For a few years (2007 – 2010) my sister Maruša and I were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to document the cultural and social dialogue between Turkish immigrants in the town of Feldbach in Styria and the majority Austrian population. We spent quite a lot of time in Graz and, of course, in Feldbach, and also among the relatives of immigrant families in Turkey. It was not our intention to judge, and even less so to be critical of anyone: no, we were simply there to listen and to pass on what we heard. The project was possible because it was financed by the Styrian government and because we were working with the staff of ISOP, an intercultural independent non-profit organisation.
