Red and white are not only the colors of the Austrian flag but also of the Turkish one. It was those two colors that formed the background of Meta Krese’s exhibited portrait photos and we can see them as an attribute of some other society, as an indication of the transnational collective. And even at times when we sense uncertainty in the captured faces, their confidence and pride prevail.
